Dtonic Wins Bid to Build Smart City Data Hub in Busan

Dtonic is set to begin building the Smart City Data Hub for Busan, aimed at boosting the region's economy through the integration and management of various urban data.

Busan, South Korea’s second-largest city and a major port hub on the country’s southeastern coast is known for its bustling ports, beautiful beaches, and vibrant cultural events. Busan is a key economic center with a focus on digital innovation and urban development.

As a leader in spatiotemporal big data and AI platforms, Dtonic will deploy its flagship solution, D.Hub, to connect public and private sector data in Busan. The initiative is designed to enhance urban safety, improve administrative efficiency, and support local economic growth.

The project includes the creation of a City Data Collection and Integration Management System, enabling collaboration across city, district, and county offices. Key features will include:

  • Real-Time Population Density Risk Analysis: A service tailored for large events, analyzing crowds to ensure public safety.

  • Small Business Health Forecasting Service: A market analysis tool designed to predict potential risks for small businesses.

Dtonic aims to continue using its Smart City Data Hub solutions to address urban challenges in major cities across South Korea, offering tailored solutions for diverse smart city needs.

CEO Yong Joo Jun emphasized, "The digital transformation of large cities is no longer optional—it’s a necessity. We hope our unique technology and solutions will become the optimal choice for municipalities looking to build smart city data hubs."

Dtonic’s D.Hub solution, which earned the prestigious GS 1st Grade Certification from the Korea Association for ICT Promotion (TTA) last year, has been deployed in multiple cities, including Chungnam Province and Ulsan.
